A Long-Lost Connection

At a busy bus stop, a young boy steps in to defend a visually impaired man carrying a cane from two teenagers who are mocking him.

— Enough! He didn’t do anything to you, —says the boy assertively.

— Why do you care? —retorts one of the teens.

— If someone needs help, you help them. You don’t laugh at them, —the boy replies firmly.

The man, grateful, turns to the boy: — Thank you. But have we met before?

— You wouldn’t remember me, —answers the boy softly.

— What do you mean?

— My mother kept me away from you for years, but yesterday she finally told me the truth… Mom said you need to know why our family never let us meet, —explains the boy, handing him an old polaroid photo.

The man takes off his sunglasses to examine the picture showing the two of them together years ago, asking in disbelief: — Who hid all this from us?

A chance encounter at a bus stop uncovers a hidden past and reopens a long-lost family bond.
