My Husband Tried to Take My House Three Days After Our Wedding

Three days after marrying Daniel Cross, Maggie discovered his son Tyler had arrived with a lawyer and documents transferring her fully paid-off house into Cross Family Holdings—an LLC owned by Daniel and Tyler.

Maggie would own nothing.

She refused to sign.

“Dad didn’t think you’d be this difficult,” Tyler muttered before leaving.

That sentence changed everything.

Instead of calling Daniel, Maggie contacted her own attorney. Within forty-eight hours, they discovered Daniel had recently searched public records for Maggie’s properties and had discussed moving “future marital assets” into his family company even before the wedding.

When Maggie confronted him, Daniel tried to explain.

“I was protecting our future.”

“No,” Maggie replied. “You were planning your future with my property.”

Then she revealed the secret she had deliberately kept from him.

Her late husband’s manufacturing business, investments, and trusts had left her with a net worth of more than $43 million.

Daniel went completely silent.

“You never told me.”

“I wanted to know whether you loved Maggie or Maggie’s money.”

She placed annulment papers on the table.

“Now I know.”

Daniel suddenly apologized, but it was too late.

The house remained Maggie’s. Her fortune remained protected. And within weeks, the marriage was over.

Months later, Maggie used part of her wealth to create a foundation in her late husband’s name.

She never regretted keeping her fortune secret.

Because the $43 million hadn’t destroyed her marriage.

It had simply revealed what kind of marriage she had entered.
