THE LITTLE GIRL WHO UNCOVERED THE SECRET BENEATH THE YELLOW FLOWERS

Alessandro stepped from behind the wall and knelt beside Emma.

“Why did you come to this garden?”

The little girl pointed to the stone Arya had painted with yellow flowers.

“Papa told Mama that if he ever didn’t come home, the yellow flowers would know the truth.”

Sophia came running across the lawn. When she heard her daughter’s words, she began to cry.

Daniel had worked at the garage responsible for maintaining the Moretti family’s vehicles. After Isabella and Arya’s crash, he discovered that the brake line had been deliberately cut. He spent months collecting evidence but died in a scaffolding collapse before he could speak to Alessandro.

Among Daniel’s belongings, Sophia had found only one message: “Look beneath the yellow flowers.” Afraid that investigating would place Emma in danger, she had kept silent.

Alessandro lifted Arya’s painted stone. Buried beneath it was a waterproof metal box containing photographs of the damaged car, falsified maintenance records, and a small voice recorder.

On the recording, Daniel named the person responsible: Victor Hale, Alessandro’s trusted security chief.

Victor had sabotaged the vehicle believing Alessandro would drive it. When Isabella unexpectedly took the car, he covered up the crime. A year later, he arranged Daniel’s fatal “accident” after learning that the mechanic had uncovered the truth.

Alessandro gave every piece of evidence to the authorities. Victor was arrested and eventually convicted, while Daniel’s name was publicly cleared.

Alessandro paid Sophia’s debts and established a foundation in Daniel and Arya’s names to support families affected by workplace accidents. Sophia became its director, no longer an invisible employee in a silent mansion.

The sunflower garden bloomed again.

Every Tuesday, Alessandro accompanied Emma to the old oak tree. Together, they watered the flowers and placed two photographs beside Arya’s painted stone—one of Daniel and one of Arya.

Emma never replaced the daughter Alessandro had lost. Instead, she taught him that continuing to love the dead did not require closing his heart to the living.

The mansion that had spent three years holding only ghosts finally became a home again.
