Vanna White’s Tearful Goodbye to Pat Sajak After 41 Years Together
After more than four decades of working side by side, Vanna White shared an emotional farewell with her longtime Wheel of Fortune partner, Pat Sajak, ahead of his final appearance as the show’s host.
On June 6, 2024, viewers watched a prerecorded tribute in which White reflected on their remarkable journey together. The television personality, then 67, struggled to describe what their 41-year partnership meant to her.
Since joining the program in 1982, White had appeared alongside Sajak in more than 8,000 episodes. What began as a professional relationship gradually developed into a friendship that extended far beyond the television studio.
During her touching message, White remembered how inexperienced she had been when she first arrived on the show. Sajak’s encouragement helped her gain confidence and become the television personality millions of Americans came to know and love.
But it was their personal memories that meant the most to her. Over the years, they had watched their children grow up, traveled together, shared countless meals and supported each other through life’s happiest and most difficult moments.
Holding back tears, White described Sajak as a brother and a lifelong friend, ending her tribute with a heartfelt declaration of love.
Following the video, the two shared an emotional embrace onstage.
Sajak’s final episode aired on June 7, 2024, marking the conclusion of an extraordinary chapter in American television history.
Ryan Seacrest subsequently stepped into the hosting role, while White remained part of the beloved game show.
Although their legendary television partnership came to an end, the friendship they built over 41 years remained a lasting reminder that some of life’s most meaningful relationships begin in the most unexpected places.
